Students make a T-chart in their science note book to compare and contrast the two types of reproduction after listening to the lecture notes. Included in student notes should be a drawing. Students will add several types of asexual reproduction. Students will list the advantages and disadvantages of this type of reproduction. List examples of organisms (living things) that reproduce asexually. List types of Asexual reproduction such as, binary fission, budding, tubers and bulbs, stems or runners, rhizomes, sporaulation, regeneration, cloning, and parthenogensis. Homework: None

Learning Target: I will learn about how frogs interact in their natural environment Assignments: 1) Video segment: Circulatory System. View Frog and human blood slides. 2)Finish Green reading comprehension questions taped into SNB. 3) Review parts of the frog life cycle in your science notebook and frog skeleton. Students should know where the following bones are on the frogs skeleton: Urostyle, femur, tibio-fibula, tarsus, metatarsals, phalanges, humerus, radio-ulna, scapula. Homework: Review Frog Life cycle and skeleton, or dissection lab anatomy of the frog for quiz on Friday.

Learning Target: I will be able to identify where the frog organs are located. Assignment: 1) Internal Frog Dissection Day 3 the final day! Can you dissect the brain out. Or dissect the leg bones. 2) Finish post Lab questions. Homework: Be sure to finish any questions in dissection packet and have it ready to turn in by Tuesday. Also Period 6 will turn in SNB with completed Frog foldable key that has been filled in with each function on Tuesday.

Learning Target: I will be able to compare the characteristics of frogs to humans. Assignments: The following Assignments will be completed over a three day period. We work on our frog functions, coloring, and complete one video segment/notes each day. 1) Venn diagram of Frogs, Vertebrates, Humans 2) Set up notebook for frog fold-able. Record body parts and color codes on your frog fold-able key. Read handout to determine the function of each body part and record it on the key. Color body parts according to the color code. 3) Video: Fabulous Frogs with David Attenborough. Take notesidentifying the main idea of each section with supporting details in science notebook. Write a paragraph that summarizes why the author of the video says Frogs are Fabulous. Give three pieces of evidence from the video. Homework: Read green sheet for functions of each frog part and write it in your Frog Key in your notebook.
Learning Target: I will gather data to design a proto-type of a temporary incubator to transport reptile eggs. Assignments: 1) Mini-Lab: Does the amount of calcium chloride dissolved in water affect the temperature change? How does baking soda affect the temperature of the calcium chloride solution? 2) Decide if baking soda should be used in the design of a portable reptile egg incubator and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of its use. 3) Investigate: About how much calcium chloride, baking soda, and water should be mixed to reach the right temperature range to incubate the eggs? 4) Draw your design for your portable temporary incubator including captions descriptions of the features that meet the following criteria: -Temperature stays in the optimal temperature range for snake eggs of 28C to 32C and for a long time period. State the amounts of chemicals used to produce this effect in your heat pack. State how many heat packs will be used and where they will be in your device. -List the features that allows for the eggs to remain in the correct orientation that they were laid in. -List features that protect the egg from impact. Period 1,5, and 6 will be given time to complete their drawings in class tomorrow. This assignments is due tomorrow. Homework: No homework.
